Jiu-Jitsu Gym Partnership

Please contact me if you are interested to learn more about the partnership program below.

Bel Air Learning Center is looking to partner with Jiu-Jitsu gyms interested in helping children with autism, ADHD and other disorders.
Jiu-Jitsu is an amazing platform for all children to improve their fitness, focus, social skills, and teach them self-defense to build their confidence. Unfortunately, many children with mental disorders are not ready or can’t participate in typical martial art classes. This is mostly due to untrained instructors when it comes to interacting with children with special needs and unfit class format or environment. As a result, most of these 5 to 12 years old children end up staying at home after school or constrained with limited activities (ie: swimming or gymnastic) when they could actually train Jiu-Jitsu.
We have evidence that with proper training and guidance, many Jiu-Jitsu instructors teaching typical children are capable of providing an environment that can make a tremendous impact on the lives of most of these children. In order to participate in this program, gyms need the right instructor(s) and available time slot(s) outside of their regular class schedule.

Bel Air commits to:

  • provide the necessary training for your instructors.
  • conduct student assessment trial at our location.
  • facilitate student onboarding at your location.
  • manage class schedule.
  • manage booking and payment.
  • follow student’s progress and provide class feedback.

Your gym and Bel Air work together to help these children move, have fun with others, and learn Jiu-Jitsu to eventually join your regular kids program.

We connect parents with your gym and instructors:

  1. Your gym identifies couple of time slots outside of your regular schedule and instructors that are interested.
  2. We add your gym on our website and connect parents of children with special needs living in the area.
  3. We conduct the first trial class at our location in Lincoln Park to assess the minimum requirements.
  4. We teach additional classes at our location.
  5. We train your instructor(s) and support them via our online Instructor group where they can have access to materials and ongoing guidance.
  6. We coordinate the classes between your gym, instructor and parent availability.
  7. Your instructor teaches with our support for the first classes.
  8. We compensate you and your instructor.

Parents will usually bring their child every week during the same time slot. Kids get more familiar with your gym environment, its instructors, class rules and most important make friends. Each session is a step closer to transitioning into your own regular program.

Your gym:

  • can change the lives of many children.
  • extends its relationship with the local community.
  • gets better instructors.
  • You and your instructors are compensated.
  • gets more visibility through referrals (ie: siblings, parents, friends)
  • welcome Bel Air graduates into your own regular kid program.

  • Have available time slots during off-hours (usually during the weekend)
  • Safe and clean gym
  • Participating instructors have experienced teaching kids, have a big heart and willing to learn interacting with special need children
  • Instructors have access to the gym during off-hours
  • Cannot have other activities in the gym at the same time (exception can be made depending on the children)
  • Take full responsibility for the student’s safety
